They were once themselves a masterpiece
Of art and craft by various prodigies
They can be of wood to glass
With rock and steel to hold their mass
They beautify the expanse around
Or lighten up the dreary ground
They stand firmly; they do not budge
Singing songs of pride and such
Be it us or vermin which lurk within
Linger about the quarters deep in
We cast a synergy though unseen
With a perseverance unending
As a communal beacon it sees
Then reaches beyond the seven seas
For beings of all societies
And unite all in a culture spree
Yet, unbeknownst to countless
Their legacy fades from mind
They changed abrupt from the fearless
To an ever endangered kind
Will we even remember?
Will they ever remember?
